Batiste Dry Shampoo, the best thing since sliced bread?

Hello everyone,

Dry shampoo. Something very interesting happened with this. It has been around for as long as I can remember, and was a bit of a little dirty secret. But a couple of years ago, through clever marketing and word of mouth, Batiste reinvented the concept. From being something no woman in her right mind would use, it quickly became one of our can’t-live-without products.

Let’s be honest, not all of us have the time (or energy) to wash, condition, blow dry and style our hair every other day. If you have longer hair, it is sometimes more akin to a chore than a pleasure. If you add a few “overslept” mornings to the equation, you will be forgiven for briefly considering shaving your head!

Now put the razor back where you found it, breathe and relax. Some help is on hands, in the shape of this cute little bottle

Promising to freshen hair between washes, and believe me, it does exactly what it says on the tim, and even more. A couple of sprays on the roots (hold the can approximately 15 cm from your head) will take any greasy feeling off your hair. Brush it out, or simply massage it with your fingers, and it will give your hair body and volume instantly. You know the bed hair look (soft tousled locks and a lot of volume) that seems so easy to recreate on paper but is tremendously difficult to get right when you try to do it? Well that is exactly what Batiste Dry Shampoo will give you!

What I also like is that is does not leave a white residue on your hair (as opposed to some other dry shampoos that actually make your scalp look like drandruff-land), does not leave your roots feeling gunky or heavy (added bonus for the thin hair ladies among us) and smells very nice. The one I have is the original, and smell flowery and delicate, and the smell does stay on your hair, big advantage for those whose hair tend to absorb any bad odours around.

The range expanded to options for different hair colours, as well as different smells, and I think there even is a glittery version, so take your pick and enjoy. It is reasonably priced at less that €5, and travel size cans are available! Quite a few haircare brands have since jumped on the dry shampoo bandwagon, but I do believe Batiste still hold the crown!

What is your lazy hair saviour?
